PROBATION PERIOD:
The selected candidates will be on Probation for a period of 2 years of active service from the date of his / her joining the Bank.

SERVICE INDEMNITY BOND:
The selected candidates will be required to execute a Service Indemnity Bond undertaking to serve the Bank for a period of 3 years or to pay the Bank a sum of Rs.250000.00 (Rs.Two Lac Fifty Thousand Only) in case he / she leaves the Bank before completion of 3 years of active service.

SELECTION PROCESS:
The selection process may comprise of online Examination and / or Personal Interview. The Bank reserves the absolute right to decide as to whether to use all or any of these modes for selection for the notified posts.

Personal Interview
A Personal Interview of 50 marks shall be conducted to assess the academic & job knowledge, power of expression, clarity of thought, qualities of leadership, extracurricular activities, hobbies, general demeanor, behavior, communication skills, suitability for the post, etc. of the applicant. The minimum qualifying marks for the Personal Interview would be 25 marks (22.5 marks for Reserved Category applicants). The applicants not securing the minimum qualifying marks in the Personal Interview will be disqualified for selection.

EXAMINATION CENTERS:
The Online Examination, if conducted, may be tentatively held on 08.07.2016 at the
following centers:
(a) Bengaluru (b) Delhi (c) Kolkata (d) Lucknow (e) Mumbai.

However, the Bank reserves its right to decide the examination centers and dates at its sole discretion. The full address of the Examination Venue and the Examination Date will be advised in the Examination Call Letters, which will be issued in case the Bank decides to hold the Online Examination. In case the Online Examination is held, the call letters can be downloaded from the Bank‟s website 'www.unionbankofindia.co.in' under "Careers" link.

Note: Request for change in allotted examination centre will not be entertained. The Bank reserves the right to allot the candidate any Center, to prepone / postpone / reschedule the Online Examination Dates and / or to add to or delete or modify / change the Examination Centre and the Venues and / or to cancel the Online Examination without assigning any reason. The venue & date of Personal Interview will be decided and informed in due course to the applicants shortlisted for the same.

HOW TO APPLY:
The candidates can apply only for one post. The applications of candidates applying for more than one post and / or submitting Multiple Applications / Registrations for the same post will be summarily rejected and the application fee / intimation charges will be forfeited. The candidates can apply only online from 25.05.2016 to 10.06.2016 (both days inclusive) and no other mode of application will be accepted.

Procedure for applying online:
i. The applicants are required to go to the Bank's website “www.unionbankofindia.co.in” and click on the link "Recruitment" under “Careers” page to access the Recruitment Notification titled "UNION BANK RECRUITMENT PROJECT 2016-17 (Specialist Officer) - RECRUITMENT NOTIFICATION”. There will be two links named as (1) Link for Notification (2) Link for Online application. The applicant has to click on first link to download the full notification. The applicant should carefully read and ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility criteria given in the downloaded notification. If the applicant is eligible then he/she may proceed to fill the online application form available as the second link.
ii. The applicants should completely fill up the online application form and upload their photograph and signature, as per the specifications given in the notification under 'Guidelines for Scanning‟.
iii. The applicants should very carefully fill in the details in the On-Line Application at appropriate places and click on the “FINAL SUBMIT” button at the end of the Online Application format. Before pressing the “FINAL SUBMIT” button, candidates are advised to verify every field filled in the application as it cannot be changed/altered/corrected after final submission.
iv. The application form is integrated with the payment gateway. The payment can be made by using Debit Cards (RuPay / Visa / Master Card / Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards / Mobile Wallets.
v. If the online transaction has been successfully completed, an e-receipt, Registration Number & Password will be generated. The applicants should note their Registration Numbers and Password for future reference.
vi. If the online transaction has not been successfully completed then the candidates are advised to login again with their provisional registration number and password and pay the Application Fees / Intimation Charges online.
vii. The applicants are required to take a printout of the e-receipt and the submitted
online application form.

Note:

An online application, which is incomplete in any respect, such as without photograph and signature uploaded in the online application form / unsuccessful fee payment will not be considered as valid.

Guidelines for Scanning and Uploading of Photograph and Signature
Before applying online the applicant should have a scanned (digital) image of his/her photograph and signature as per the specifications given below:

Photograph Image:
 Photograph should be camera facing, recent passport size colour picture against a light colored, preferably white background. The face should be clearly visible. Caps, Hats and Dark Glasses are not acceptable. Religious Headwear is allowed but it must not cover the face.
 The face should cover 80% of the photograph.
 The dimensions of the photograph should be preferably 200 x 230 pixels.
 The size of picture file should be between 20 kb - 50 kb only.

Signature Image:
 The signature should be made only on White Paper with Black Ink pen.
 The signature should be made only by the applicant.
 The signature will be used on the Application Form, Hall Ticket and wherever necessary.
 If the applicant's signature does not match with the one uploaded on application form, the applicant will be disqualified and his/her candidature cancelled at any stage.
 The dimensions of the signature file should preferably be of 140 x 60 pixels.
 The size of signature file should be between 10 kb - 20 kb only.

Scanning the photograph and signature:
 Set the scanner resolution to a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch).
 Set Colour to True Colour.
 Set File Size as specified above.
 The image file should be JPG or JPEG format.
 If the file size and format are not as per prescribed criteria, an error message will be displayed.

Selection:
The qualification prescribed is the minimum requirement and possession of the same does not automatically make the candidate eligible to be called for Written test and Skill test. There will be an initial screening, based on the academic performance and other parameters given in the online applications and only those screened-in candidates will be called for Written test. Those who qualify in the written test will have to appear for Skill test.

The final selection will be done amongst qualified candidates, purely based on the scores obtained by them in the written test. From amongst candidates who qualify in the Skill test, with minimum 60% marks, empanelment shall be done in the order of marks obtained in the written test. Skill test, wherever prescribed will be purely on ‘go-no-go’ basis and marks obtained in the skill test shall not be considered for selection. In case of a tie in written test scores, the academic scores of the notified qualification shall be the tie breaker.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
(A) Essential Academic Qualifications: (As on 31.08.2016) Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final Year/Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31.08.2016. Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31.08.2016. Candidates possessing qualification of Chartered Accountant may also apply.

Note:
(1) The date of passing eligibility examination will be the date appearing on the mark sheet or provisional certificate issued by the University/Institute. In case the result of a particular examination is posted on the website of the University/Institute, a certificate issued by the appropriate authority of the University/Institute indicating the date on which the result was posted on the website will be taken as the date of passing.
(2) Candidate should indicate the percentage obtained in Graduation calculated to the nearest two decimals in the online application. Where CGPA/OGPA is awarded, the same should be converted into percentage and indicated in online application. If called for interview, the candidate will have to produce a certificate issued by the appropriate authority inter alia stating that the norms of the University regarding conversion of grade into percentage and the percentage of marks scored by the candidate in terms of norms.
(3) Calculation of Percentage: The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours/optional/additional optional subject, if any. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class/Grade is decided on the basis of Honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.

Emoluments (As on 31.03.2016):
Presently the starting basic pay is Rs.27,620/- (with 4 advance increments) in the scale of Rs. 23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I. The official will also be eligible for D.A, H.R.A/ Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time. The total compensation per annum would be a minimum of Rs. 7.55 lacs and maximum of Rs. 12.93 lacs depending on place of posting and other factors.
SBI plans to offer, subject to necessary approvals, a SMART Compensation package which would enable candidates a choice to monetize specific elements of the salary package.

Selection Procedure
The examination will be held in two phases preliminary and main. Candidates who will qualify in preliminary examination and shortlisted will have to appear for Main examination and shortlisted candidates in the main examination will subsequently be called for a Group Discussion & Interview.

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination
Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:

Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing passing marks to be decided by the Bank. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 20 times the numbers of vacancies subject to availability) will be short listed for the Main Examination.

Phase - II: Main Examination
Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 25 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered.

Objective Test: The objective test of 3 hours duration consist of 4 Sections for total 200 marks. The objective test will have separate timing for every section. The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with 25 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in objective test.
Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both - Preliminary and Main examination) There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

Phase - III: Group Discussion & Interview
The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the Objective Tests and Descriptive Test will be arranged in descending order in each category. Adequate number of candidates in each category, as decided by the Bank will be called for Group Discussion and Interview. The qualifying marks in Group Discussion &Interview will be as decided by the Bank.

Final Selection

The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for the selection and only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), both in Objective Test and Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in GD & Interview (Phase-III) for preparation of the final merit list.

The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately. Marks secured by the candidates in the Written Test (out of 225 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Discussion & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25. The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating converted marks of Written Test and Group Discussion &Interview out of 100 for each category. The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.

Career Path
The Probationary Officers will be on probation of two years during which they will be given intensive training. Towards the end of their probation / training period, they will be subjected to a screening process. While those Officers who achieve the predetermined standards may be confirmed and given placement in the next higher grade i.e., Officer Middle Management Grade Scale-II, others who qualify in the test but fail to achieve the standards set for placement in Middle Management Grade Scale-II, will be confirmed as Officer Junior Management Grade Scale-I. The services of those Officers who fail to qualify in this process will be terminated. Bank provides immense opportunities for growth in the Bank including opportunities for postings abroad. HOW TO APPLY
The candidates can apply only for one post. Candidates can apply online only from 29.04.2016 to 13.05.2016 and no other mode of application will be accepted.

EXAMINATION CENTERS (Tentative List)
I). The examination will be conducted online at venues across many centers in India. The tentative list of examination centers for the Preliminary Exams is available in Annexure I.
ii). No request for change of center for examination shall be entertained.
iii). SBI, however, reserves the right to cancel any of the examination centers and/or add some other centers, at its discretion, depending upon the response, administrative feasibility, etc.
iv). SBI also reserves the right to allot the candidate to any center other than the one he/she has opted for.
v). Candidate will appear for the examination at an examination center at his/her own risk and expenses and SBI will not be responsible for any injury or losses etc. of any nature.
vi). Any unruly behaviour/misbehaviour in the examination hall may result in cancellation of candidature/disqualification from future exams conducted by SBI.
vii). The centers for the Main Examination will be limited.

HOW TO APPLY
Candidates can apply online only from 04-05-2016 to 24-05-2016 and no other mode of application
will be accepted.

GUIDELINES FOR FILLING ONLINE APPLICATION:
Candidates will be required to register themselves online through Bank's website
www.sbi.co.in/careers or www.statebankofindia.com/careers. After registration, candidates are
required to pay the requisite application fee through online mode by using Debit Card/ Credit
Card/Internet Banking.

Pre-requisites for Applying Online: Candidate should have valid email ID which should be kept active till
the declaration of results. It will help him/her in getting call letter/interview advices etc. by email.

PAYMENT OF FEES: [ONLINE MODE ONLY]:
i). Candidates should first scan their photograph and signature as detailed under guidelines for
scanning the photograph and signature.
ii). Candidates to visit Bank's website www.sbi.co.in/careers or www.statebankofindia.com/careers and open the appropriate Online Application Form, available in the 'Current Openings'.
iii). Fill the application carefully. Once the application is filled in completely, candidates should submit the data. In the event of candidates not being able to fill the data in one go, they can save the data
already entered. When the data is saved, a provisional registration number and password will be
generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidates should note down the
registration number and password. They can re-open the saved data using registration number
and password and edit the particulars, if needed. This facility will be available three times only.
Once the application is filled in completely, candidates should submit the data. No change /edit will
be allowed thereafter. The registration at this stage is provisional.
iv). After ensuring the correctness of the particulars of the application form, candidates are
required to pay fees through the payment gateway integrated with the application, following the
instructions available on the screen.
v). The payment can be made by using Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Internet Banking by providing
information as asked on the screen. Transaction charges for online payment, if any, will be
borne by the candidates.
vi). On successful completion of the transaction, e-receipt and application form will be generated;
which may be printed for record. The printout of the application form is not to be sent to the Bank.
vii). If the online transaction is not successfully completed, please register again and make
payment online.
viii). There is also a provision to reprint the e-Receipt and Application Form containing fee details, at
a later stage.

CALL LETTERS FOR EXAMINATION
The candidates should download their call letter and an “acquaint yourself “booklet by entering their
registration number and password / date of birth from the Bank's website. NO HARD COPY OF THE
CALL LETTER / ACQUAINT YOURSELF BOOKLET WILL BE SENT BY POST.

GENERAL INFORMATION
i) Candidates are advised to take a printout of their system generated online application formafter submitting  the application.
ii) Candidates should satisfy themselves about their eligibility for the post applied for. The Bank would admit to the test all the candidates applying for the posts with the requisite fee on the basis of the information furnished in the online application and shall determine their eligibility only at the time of interview.
iii) Candidates are advised in their own interest to apply online much before the closing date and not to wait till the last date to avoid the possibility of disconnection / inability / failure to log on to the website on account of heavy load on internet or website jam.
iv) SBI does not assume any responsibility for the candidates not being able to submit their applications within the last date on account of aforesaid reasons or for any other reason beyond the control of SBI.
v) Not more than one application should be submitted by a candidate. In case of multiple applications, only the last valid (completed) application will be retained and the application fee / intimation charges paid for the other registrations will stand forfeited. Multiple attendance/ appearance by a candidate in examination and / or interview will be summarily rejected/ candidature cancelled.
vi) The possibility for occurrence of some problems in the administration of the examination cannot be ruled out completely, which may impact test delivery and/ or result from being generated. In that event, every effort will be made to rectify such problems, which may include the conduct of another examination if, considered necessary.
vii) Candidates serving in Govt./Quasi Govt. offices, Public Sector undertakings including Nationalised Banks and Financial Institutions are advised to submit 'No Objection Certificate' from their employer at the time of interview, failing which their candidature may not be considered and travelling expenses, if any, otherwise admissible, will not be paid.
viii) In case of selection, candidates will be required to produce proper discharge certificate from the employer at the time of taking up the appointment.
ix) Caste certificate issued by Competent Authority on format prescribed by the Government of India will have to be submitted by the SC/ST candidates, if called for interview.
x) A declaration will have to be submitted in the prescribed format by candidates seeking reservation under OBC category stating that he/she does not belong to the creamy layer as on 24.05.2016. The candidates selected in MMGS-II / III and JMGS-I will be on probation for a period of 12 months (1 year) and 24 months (2 years) respectively from the date of his/her joining the Bank.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
i. Before applying for any post the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility and other norms mentioned in this advertisement. The decision of Bank in all matters regarding eligibility of the candidate, the stages at which such scrutiny of eligibility is to be undertaken, the documents to be produced for the purpose of written test (if held), interview, selection and any other matter relating to recruitment will be final and binding on the candidate. No correspondence or personal enquiries shall be entertained by the Bank on this behalf.
ii. In case it is detected at any stage of recruitment that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility norms and/or he/she has furnished any incorrect/false information/certificate/documents or has suppressed any material fact(s), his/her candidature will stand cancelled. If any of these shortcomings is/are detected even after appointment, his/her services are liable to be terminated.
iii. Only online registration of application would be accepted.
iv. Online applications are to be processed by a computerized system. It is essential that the application is properly and completely filled in.
v. The candidates should fill the details in application correctly, particularly – name/age/qualification/caste etc. which will have direct effect on selection/non-selection. Bank takes no responsibility for rejection/non-selection due to aforesaid error.
vi. An application without requisite application fee/intimation charge shall not be entertained.
vii. The candidates must submit the self attested photocopies of all the certificates in support of their educational qualification, experience, date of birth and caste (if any) along with the copy of the online application form at the time of Group Discussion/Interview.
viii. Candidates belonging to and applying for a post under the reserved OBC category are required to submit a Certificate regarding his/her “Community” in the prescribed
format “FORM OF CERTIFICATE TO BE PRODUCED BY OTHER BACKWARD CLASSES APPLYING FOR APPOINTMENT TO POSTS UNDER THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA” (format available on Bank’s website along with this Notification) and the Certificate should contain the “NON-CREAMY LAYER CLAUSE”. OBC caste certificate containing the Non-creamy layer clause should be valid as on the date of interview if called for (issued within one year prior to the date of interview if called for). Caste name mentioned in the certificate should tally letter by letter with Central Government list / notification. Candidates not producing the above certificate will not be considered under the OBC category.
ix. Candidates belonging to OBC category but coming in the “CREAMY LAYER” are not entitled to OBC reservation. They should indicate their category as ‘GENERAL’.
x. The Bank reserves the right to alter, modify or change the eligibility criteria and/or any of the other terms and conditions spelt out in this notification, including criteria for passing/method and procedure for selection.
xi. Only those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and who are shortlisted for appearing in the Group Discussion/ Personal Interview will be intimated either by e-mail or may download the call letter from the Bank’s website. No communication/intimations regarding interviews will be sent by post. The names of candidates who are finally shortlisted for Group Discussion/Interview will also be available on the Bank’s website www.obcindia.co.in. Applicants are requested to keep track of the same by visiting Bank’s website from time to time.
xii. The Bank takes no responsibility for non-receipt of intimation or inability to print call letter from the web.
xiii. The candidates will have to appear for GD/PI at their own expense. However, eligible SC/ST outstation candidates appearing for the same will be reimbursed to and fro second (sleeper) class rail / ordinary bus fare by the shortest route on production of evidence of travel.
xiv. Candidates claiming to have work experience, if called for Group Discussion/ Interview, will have to produce documentary proof of work-experience certificate(s) relevant to the post applied for, for the period mentioned in the application form from their employer(s) clearly stating the period and nature of employment/duties. Copies of Offer Letter, Salary Certificate in lieu of work experience certificates will not be accepted.
xv. Experience wherever required is post qualification, full time and in the relevant field. Please note that experience below 06 months in any organization will not be considered.
xvi. Request for change of address / e-mail id / GD/PI Centre will not be entertained.
xvii. In case any dispute arises on account of interpretation in version other than English, English version will prevail.
xviii. Any resultant dispute arising out of this advertisement shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the courts situated at NCT of Delhi.
xix. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to his/her being declared medically fit as per the requirement of the Bank. Such appointment will also be subject to the Service & Conduct Rules of the Bank.
xx. The confirmation of the selected candidates in the Bank shall be subject to the receipt of satisfactory report regarding character and antecedents from the Police authorities. In case of negative report from Police authorities, the service of the
appointed candidate shall be terminated forthwith without assigning any reason.
xxi. Banking, being a versatile activity, needs all round grooming of the selected / recruited candidate. Accordingly, the candidates recruited / selected in the Bank will be required to inculcate overall knowledge of various facets of banking and allied subjects for which the Bank will provide necessary on-the-job/classroom training. It is expected that the candidates selected will endeavor to equip themselves with skill sets that will enable them to rise to higher positions in the Bank in due course of time.
xxii. Only candidates willing to serve anywhere in India should apply.
xxiii. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.

HOW TO APPLY
The candidates can apply only for one post. Candidates can apply online only from 29.04.2016 to 13.05.2016 and no other mode of application will be accepted.

Pre-Requisites for Applying Online
Before applying online, candidates should:
i. Scan their photograph and signature ensuring that both the photograph and signature adhere to the required specifications as mentioned in this advertisement at Annexure-I.
ii. Keep the necessary details/documents for Online Payment of the requisite application fee/ intimation charges ready.
iii. Have a valid personal email ID which should be kept active till the completion of this recruitment process. Bank may send call letters for the Interview etc. through the registered e-mail ID. Under no circumstances, a candidate should share with/mention e-mail ID to / of any other person. In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/her new e-mail ID before applying on-line and must maintain that email account.
Bank Transaction charges for Online Payment of application fees/ intimation charges will have to be borne by the candidate.

Procedure for applying online
i. Candidates are first required to go to the Bank’s website www.obcindia.co.in and click the option “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE” to open the On-Line Application Form.
ii. To register their application candidates will be entering their basic information in the online application form. After that a provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidate should note down the provisional registration number and password. An Email & SMS indicating the Provisional Registration Number and Password will also be sent.
iii. Candidates are required to upload their photograph and signature as per the specifications given in the Guidelines given hereunder for Scanning and Upload of Photograph and Signature.
iv. Candidates are advised to carefully fill the online application themselves as no change in any of the data filled in the online application will be possible / entertained.
v. Prior to submission of the online application, candidates are advised to use the “SAVE AND NEXT” facility to verify the details in the online application form and modify the same, if required. No change is permitted after clicking on FINAL SUBMIT button. Visually Impaired candidates are responsible for carefully verifying the details filled in the online application form and ensuring that the same are correct prior to submission, as no change is possible after submission.

Mode of Payment
i. Candidates have to make the payment of requisite fees / intimation charges through ONLINE mode only.
ii. Candidates should carefully fill the details in the On-Line Application at the appropriate places very carefully and click on the “FINAL SUBMIT” button at the end of the Online Application format. Before pressing the “FINAL SUBMIT” button, candidates are advised to verify every field filled in the application. The name of the candidate and his /her father/husband etc. should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the certificates/mark sheets. Any change/alteration found may disqualify the candidature.
iii. In case the candidate is unable to fill the application form in one go, he/ she can save the data already entered.
iv. Once the application is filled in completely, candidate should submit the final data.
v. The application form is integrated with the payment gateway and the payment process can be completed by following the instructions.
- The payment can be made by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/Mobile Wallets by providing information as asked on the screen.
- After Final Submission, an additional page of the application form is displayed wherein candidates may follow the instructions and fill the requisite details.
- If the online transaction has not been successfully completed then candidates are advised to login again with their provisional registration number and password and pay the Application Fees/ Intimation Charges online.
- On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated.
- Candidates are required to take a printout of the e-receipt and online application form. Please note that if the same cannot be generated online transaction may not have been successful.

NOTE:
 After submitting your payment information in the online application form, please wait for the intimation from the server, DO NOT press back or refresh button in order to avoid double charge.
 For Credit Card users: All charges are listed in Indian Rupee. If you use a non-Indian credit card, your bank will convert to your local currency based on prevailing exchange rates.

 After completing the procedure of applying on-line including payment of fees, the candidate should take a printout of the system generated on-line application form, ensure the particulars filled in are accurate and retain it along with Registration Number and Password for future reference.  Please note that all the particulars mentioned in the online application including Name of the Candidate, Category, Date of Birth, Post Applied for, Address, Mobile Number, Email ID, Centre of Examination (for future use) etc. will be considered as final and no change/modifications will be allowed after submission of the online application form.
 Candidates are hence requested to fill the online application form with the utmost care as no correspondence regarding change of details will be entertained. Bank will not be responsible for any consequences arising out of furnishing of incorrect and incomplete details in the application or omission to provide the required details in the application form.
 An email / SMS intimation with the Registration Number and Password generated on successful registration of the application will be sent to the candidate’s email ID / Mobile Number specified in the online application form as a system generated acknowledgement. If candidates do not receive the email and SMS intimations at the email ID / Mobile number specified by them, they may consider that their online application has not been successfully registered.
 An online application which is incomplete in any respect such as without photograph and signature uploaded in the online application form / unsuccessful fee payment will not be considered as valid.

UPSC Indian Forest Service Examination 2016

The Union Public Service Commission will hold a Screening Test for selection to Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination, 2016 through Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2016 which will be held on 07th August, 2016, in accordance with the Rules published by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change in the Gazette of India dated the 27th April 2016.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

Note I : Candidates who have appeared at an examination the passing of which would render them educationally qualified for the Commission's examination but have not been informed of the results as also
the candidates who intend to appear at such a qualifying examination will also be eligible for admission to the Preliminary Examination. All candidates who are declared qualified by the Commission for taking the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination will be required to produce proof of passing the requisite examination with their application for the Main Examination failing which such candidates will not be admitted to the Indian Forest Service Main Examination. The applications for the Main Examination will be called sometime in the month of September/October, 2016 through on‐line mode.

NOTE II : In addition, the candidates who possess qualification equivalent to those specified in Rule 7 will be required to produce a certificate from University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of the Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 clarifying that the degree is at par with the Bachelor's degree specified in Rule 7 along with their application for the Main Examination failing which such candidate will not be admitted to the Main Examination.

NOTE III : In exceptional cases the Union Public Service Commission may treat a candidate who has not any of the foregoing qualifications as a qualified candidate provided that he/she has passed examination
conducted by the other Institutions, the standard of which in the opinion of the Commission justifies his/her admission to the examination.

AGE LIMITS :
(a) A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on 1st August, 2016, i.e. he must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1984 and not later than 1st August, 1995.
(b) The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable:‐
(i) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.
(ii) upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.
(iii) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from the 1st January, 1980 to the 31st day of December, 1989.
(iv) upto a maximum of three years in the case of Defence Services personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof:
(v) upto a maximum of five years in the case of ex‐servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on 1st August, 2016 and have been released (i) on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from 1st August, 2016) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency, or (ii) on account of physical disability attributable to Military Service, or (iii) on invalidment.
(vi) upto a maximum of five years in the case of ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of five years of Military Service as on 1st August, 2016 and whose assignment has been extended beyond five years and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues a certificate that they can apply for civil employment and that they will be released on three month's notice on selection from the date of receipt of offer of appointment.
(vii) upto a maximum of 10 years in the case of Low Vision and Hearing Impaired persons.
NOTE I Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes and the Other Backward Classes who are also covered under any other clauses of para 3(ii) (b) above, viz. those coming under the
category of Ex‐servicemen, persons domiciled in the State of J & K, Low Vision and Hearing Impaired person etc. will be eligible for grant of cumulative age‐relaxation under both the categories.
NOTE II The term ex‐servicemen will apply to the persons who are defined as ex‐servicemen in the Exservicemen (Reemployment in Civil Services and Posts) Rules, 1979, as amended from time to time.
NOTE III The age concession under Para 3(ii)(b)(v) and (vi) will not be admissible to Ex‐Servicemen and Commissioned Officers including ECOs/SSCOs, who are released on own request.
NOTE IV Notwithstanding the provision of age‐relaxation under para 3(ii) (b) (vii) above, a physically
disabled candidate will be considered to be eligible for appointment only if he/she (after such physical examination as the Government or appointing authority, as the case may be, may prescribe) is found to satisfy the requirements of physical and medical standards for the concerned Services/posts to be allocated to the physically disabled candidates by the Government.

NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS :
Every candidate appearing at the Examination, who is otherwise eligible, shall be permitted six attempts at the examination.

Provided that this restriction on the number of attempts will not apply in the case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates who are otherwise eligible. Provided further that the number of attempts permissible to candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are otherwise eligible, shall be nine. Provided further that a physically handicapped will get as many attempts as are available to other nonphysically handicapped candidates of his or her community, subject to the condition that a physically handicapped candidate belonging to the General Category, shall be eligible for nine attempts. Necessary action to make corresponding changes in respective Rules/Regulations pertaining to Indian Forest Service is being taken separately. The relaxation will be available to the physically handicapped candidates who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.

NOTE :
(i) An attempt at a Preliminary Examination shall be deemed to be an attempt at the Examination.
(ii) If a candidate actually appears in any one paper in the Preliminary Examination, as a candidate for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination, he/she shall be deemed to have made an attempt at the Examination.
(iii) Notwithstanding the disqualification/cancellation of candidature the fact of appearance of the candidate at the examination will count as an attempt.

NATIONALITY :
A candidate must be either :‐
(a) A citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Srilanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary, may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him/her by the Government of India.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS :
Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Indian Forest Service Examination, 2016 as per regulations given in Appendix‐III of the rules for the Indian Forest Service Examination, 2016 published in Gazette of India dated 27th April, 2016.

PLAN OF EXAMINATION
The Indian Forest Service Examination will consist of two successive stages (vide Appendix I Section‐I below).
(i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination; and
(ii) Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service.

Applications are now invited for the Preliminary Examination only. Candidates who will be declared by the Commission to have qualified for admission to the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination will have to apply again, in the Online Detailed Application Form which would be made available on the Website of the Commission after declaration of Results of Preliminary Examination. The Main Examination is likely to be held in November, 2016.
2. The number of vacancies to be filled on the results of the examination is expected to be approximately 110. The number of vacancies is liable to alteration. Reservation will be made for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes and Physically Handicapped Categories in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Government.

Note : As per the information received from the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. 2 vacancies have been kept reserved by them for Low Vision category and 1 vacancy has been kept reserved Hearing Impaired category. However the vacancies indicated are liable to further alteration. A candidate will be eligible to get the benefit of community reservation only in case the particular caste to which the candidates belong is included in the list of reserved communities issued by the Central Government. If a candidate indicates in his/her Application Form for Indian Forest Service Examination that he/she belongs to General Category but subsequently writes to the Commission to change his/her category, to a reserved one, such request shall not be entertained by the Commission. Similar principle will be followed for physically disabled category also. While the above principle will be followed in general, there may be a few cases where there was a little gap (say 2‐3 months) between the issuance of a Government Notification enlisting a particular community in the list of any of the reserved communities and the date of submission of the application by the candidate. In such cases the request of change of community from general to reserved may be considered by the Commission on merit. In case of a candidate unfortunately becoming physically disabled during the course of the examination, the candidate should produce valid documents to enable the Commission to take a decision in the matter on merit.

Candidates seeking reservation/relaxation benefits available for SC/ST/OBC/PH/ Exservicemen must ensure that they are entitled to such reservation/relaxation as per eligibility prescribed in the Rules/Notice. They should also be in possession of all the requisite certificates in the prescribed format in support of their claim as stipulated in the Rules/Notice for such benefits, and these certificates should be dated earlier than the due date (closing date) of the application for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination.

FEE
Candidates applying (excepting Female/SC/ST/PH candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) for Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination are required to pay a fee of Rs.100/‐ (Rupees One Hundred only) either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit card.

Applicants who opt for "Pay by Cash" mode should print the system generated Pay‐in‐slip during part II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only. "Pay by Cash" mode will be deactivated at 23.59 hours of 26.05.2016 i.e. one day before the closing date; however applicants who have generated their Pay‐in‐Slip before it is deactivated may pay at the counter of SBI Branch during banking hours on the closing date. Such applicants who are unable to pay by cash on the closing date i.e. during banking hours at SBI Branch, for reasons whatsoever, even if holding valid pay‐in‐slip will have no other offline option but to opt for available online Debit/Credit Card or Internet Banking payment mode on the closing date i.e. till 23.59 hours of 27.05.2016.

For the applicant in whose case payments details have not been received from the bank, they will be treated as fictitious payment cases and a list of all such applicants shall be made available on the Commission's website within two weeks after the last day of submission of Online Application. These applicants shall also
be intimated through e‐mail to submit copy of proof of their payment to the Commission at the address
mentioned in the e‐mail. The applicant shall be required to submit the proof within 10 days from the date of
such communication either by hand or by speed post to the Commission. In case, no response is received
from the applicant, their application shall be summarily rejected and no further correspondence shall be
entertained in this regard.

HOW TO APPLY :
(a) Candidates are required to apply Online using the link www.upsconline.nic.in for Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination which will act as a screening mechanism for selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination. Candidates who wish to apply for Civil Services Examination also, [subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions] have to apply once by appropriately indicating in the online application form that they intend to appear for both the Indian Forest Service Examination and the Civil Services Examination. Candidates, who will qualify for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination, will have to fill in a Detailed Application Form subsequently as per further instructions to be provided to the candidates through the website (www.upsconline.nic.in) of the Commission. Detailed instructions for filling up Online Applications are available on the above mentioned website.

The applicants are advised to submit only single application, however, if due to any unavoidable situation, if he/she submits another/multiple applications, then he/she must ensure that application with the higher RID is complete in all respects like applicants details, examination centre, photograph, signature, fee etc. The applicants who are submitting multiple applications should note that only the applications with higher RID (Registration ID) shall be entertained by the Commission and fee paid against one RID shall not be adjusted against any other RID.
(b) All candidates, whether already in Government Service, or in Government owned industrial undertakings
or other similar organizations or in private employment should submit their applications direct to the Commission. Persons already in Government service, whether in a permanent or temporary capacity or as work charged
employees other than casual or daily rated employees or those serving under Public Enterprises are
however, required to inform their Head of Office/Department that they have applied for the Examination.
Candidates should note that in case a communication is received from their employer by the Commission
withholding permission to the candidates applying for/appearing at the examination, their applications will be liable to be rejected/candidature will be liable to be cancelled.

NOTE I: While filling in his/her Application Form, the candidate should carefully decide about his/her choice for the centre and optional subjects for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination. More than one
application from a candidate giving different centres and/or optional subjects will not be accepted in any
case. Even if a candidate sends more than one completed application, the Commission will accept only one
application at their discretion and the Commission's decision in the matter shall be final. If any candidate
appears at a centre/optional subjects other than those indicated by the Commission in his/her Admission
Certificate, the papers of such a candidate will not be valued and his/her candidature will be liable to cancellation.

NOTE2:
Providing scribe to a Low Vision candidate or allowing him/ her to bring his/ her own scribe, suitable provisons have been made in the online application programme to get the information at the time of the initial online application itself.
 NOTE3:
Candidates appearing in CS(P) Examination, 2016 will be required to indicate information such as
(a) detail of centres for Civil Services (Main) Examination and Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination (b)
Optional subject to be selected for both the examinations, (c) medium of examination for Civil Services
(Main) Examination and (d) compulsory Indian language for Civil Services (Main) Examination at the time of
the filling up online application itself, incase he/she is applying for both the Civil Services Examination and
the Indian Forest Service Examination or else requisite examination specific information, as the case may be.

NOTE 4 : Candidates are not required to submit along with their applications any certificate in support of
their claims regarding Age, Educational Qualifications, Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward
Classes and Physically disabled etc. which will be verified at the time of the Main examination only. The
candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for
admission to the Examination. Their admission at all the stages of examination for which they are admitted
by the Commission viz. Preliminary Examination, Main (Written) Examination and Interview Test will be
purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If on verification at any
time before or after the Preliminary Examination, Main (written) Examination and Interview Test, it is found
that they do not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions; their candidature for the examination will be cancelled
by the Commission. If any of their claims is found to be incorrect, they may render themselves liable todisciplinary action by the Commission in terms of Rule 12 of the Rules for the Indian Forest Service
Examination, 2016.

LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS :
The Online Applications can be filled upto 27th May, 2016 till 11.59 PM after which the link will be
disabled.

CORRESPONDENCE WITH THE COMMISSION :
The Commission will not enter into any correspondence with the candidates about their candidature except
in the following cases:
(i) The eligible candidates shall be issued an e‐Admit Card about three weeks before the commencement of
the examination. The e‐Admit Card will be made available in the UPSC website [www.upsc.gov.in] for
downloading by candidates. No Admission Certificate will be sent by post. If a candidate does not receive
his/her e‐Admit Card or any other communication regarding his/her candidature for the examination three
weeks before the commencement of the examination, he/she should at once contact the Commission.
Information in this regard can also be obtained from the Facilitation Counter located in the Commission's
office either in person or over phone Nos. 011‐ 23381125/011‐23385271/011‐23098543.

In case no communication is received in the Commission's office from the candidate regarding nonreceipt of his/her eAdmit Card at least three weeks before the examination, he/she himself/herself will be solely responsible for nonreceipt of his/her eAdmission Certificate.

IMPORTANT : ALL COMMUNICATIONS TO THE COMMISSION SHOULD INVARIABLY CONTAIN THE
FOLLOWING PARTICULARS.
1. NAME AND YEAR OF THE EXAMINATION
2. REGISTRATION I.D. (RID)
3. ROLL NUMBER (IF RECEIVED)
4. NAME OF CANDIDATE (IN FULL AND IN BLOCK LETTERS)
5. COMPLETE POSTAL ADDRESS AS GIVEN IN THE APPLICATION.
6. VALID AND ACTIVE EMAIL I.D.

N.B.II : IF A LETTER/COMMUNICATION IS RECEIVED FROM A CANDIDATE AFTER AN EXAMINATION HAS BEEN HELD AND IT DOES NOT GIVE HIS/HER FULL NAME AND ROLL NUMBER, IT WILL BE IGNORED AND NO ACTION WILL BE TAKEN THEREON.
